The winter solstice is with us

It’s the shortest day of the year. There is the least amount of sunlight. The most darkness. It’s not about being further away from the Sun but more of the angle that the sun strikes it. The sun is striking the southern hemisphere now.

Over the last couple of years I’ve tried to make ceremonies marking the solstice and the equinox. I feel they are of the genuine events on the planet Earth worth noticing. People recognize their own holidays and every culture marks the passage of time in its own way.

I find that the Earth has its rhythm. It’s basically had the same rhythm for millions and millions of years. And then people come along and they disturb the rhythm. These days we like it when people are as angry and hateful as possible. These days we like people absolutely driven with fear. These days we love when everyone is paranoid and trying desperately to find an answer for their misery. There’s a lot of profit in this way of life A lot of people make a lot of money off of human misery and exploit it to the ends degree.

Some of us prefer slower rhythms. Some of us prefer seasons. Some of us prefer an easy progress to the days. Some of us prefer not to be anxious or to worry about what other people think about us. Some of us like living on planet Earth because of our connection to the planet and nature and therefore the whole of the universe really. Some of us just want the money so they can buy drugs so they can ignore nature and the rhythms.

I think it’s kind of a shame really. I have a theory about cancer. I think it’s hate bottled up inside a human body. Almost all the carcinogens that we use as part of our product lines or food sources are there because they are profitable. People are looking for drugs and drugs is the business of people. I’m not really interested in that life anymore. I’m more interested in watching the seasons go by and enjoying the change in weather.
